About Owen Hunter
My work is rooted in my encounters with the natural world and the people who inhabit it. Working across media, I aim to create experiences that tell a story — whether through a brand, a product, or an event. I use both film and digital photography, pairing them with creative shoots, while also working in oil and acrylic painting, video marketing, surfboard shaping, and more. Each medium becomes a different way of translating observation into something tangible.
The idea of bringing people together and building meaningful relationships through creative practice is what gets me out of bed in the morning. Each discipline informs the next; a conversation at an event might shape the direction of a campaign, and a photograph might influence a painting or product. I’m deeply interested in how creativity can move fluidly between fine art and functional design — between something that hangs on a wall and something that lives in someone’s everyday life.
At the core of it all is connection. Bringing people together and building meaningful,
lasting relationships through creative practice is the foundation of everything I do.
I’m motivated by the possibility of creating spaces, whether physical or digital,
where people feel seen, inspired, and a part of something real and genuine. For me
the work isn’t just about the final result; it’s about the shared experience, the process
itself, and the community that forms naturally along the way.
